Accessibility
At S. Norton & Co Ltd, we are committed to making our website more accessible and all our online services easier to use.
This means that, wherever possible, we follow the guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) under the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) Browser compatibility.
You can enjoy viewing our website on a wide range of browsers. We have also tested the pages of this site with the following browsers:
- * Internet Explorer 5.5 (and up) (Windows)
- * Safari 1.2 (and up)
- * Firefox 1.5 (and up) (Windows)
- * Opera 8 (and up) (Windows)
- * Netscape (based on the Firefox engine)
- * AOL (based on the Internet Explorer engine)
Typeface
To make our pages as easy as possible to read, we have used a non-serif typeface.
We have also chosen colours for the text that give good contrast with the background colours and which allow you to change the font size if you are using a screen reader.
Because we know that not everyone uses a traditional browser, we have designed this Norton site to work with screen readers.
We use text (in ALT tags) to describe images and use descriptive links - so that you know where the link takes you. We have also made a decision not to use frames, which are difficult for screen readers and special browsers to interpret.
PDF (Portable Document Format)
Adobe PDF is an Internet standard format used to distribute electronic documents so they can be read on other computers. Most electronic documents or images can be converted to a PDF fomat document by using Acrobat software, and anyone can read these documents on their computer simply by using Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader software.
